- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 4 6
- brown sugar - 1 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 2/3 c
- molasses - 2/3 c
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- white sugar - 1/2 c
- allspice - 1/4 tsp
- black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- oil of anise - 1 tsp
How to make pfeffernuesse:
Cream sugars, shortening and molasses. Add egg. Add dry ingredients and oil of anise. Mix until well blended. Chill at least one hour, roll the size of a lead pencil, slice. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Hand Formed cookies.
