German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water
- cider vinegar - 2/3 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 3/4 c
- slices bacon - 5 item
- sliced cooked potatoes - 6 c
How to make german potato salad:
Fry bacon in skillet until crisp. Remove and drain. Reserve 2 to 3 tablespoons drippings. Cook onions in drippings until tender. Stir in flour slowly; blend well. Add vinegar and water. Cook (stirring) until bubbly and slightly thick. Stir in sugar, salt and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes. Crumble bacon. Carefully stir bacon and potatoes into hot mixture. Heat through, stirring lightly to coat potatoes. Serve warm. Makes 8 servings.Recipe categories: Salads, Side dish, Potato.
