German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water
- cider vinegar - 2/3 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 3/4 c
- bacon strips - 5 item
- sliced, cooked, peeled potatoes - 6 c
How to make german potato salad:
In large skillet, fry bacon until crisp; remove and set aside. Drain all but 2 to 3 tablespoons of drippings. Cook onion until tender in drippings. Stir in flour; blend well. Add vinegar and water; cook and stir until bubbly and slightly thick. Add sugar and stir until it dissolves. Crumble bacon; gently stir in bacon and potatoes. Heat through, stirring lightly to coat potato slices. Serve warm. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.Recipe categories: Salads, Side dish, Potato.
