  • sugar - 4 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • cider vinegar - 1/4 c
  • leaf lettuce - 1 item
  • sliced green onions - 1/2 c
  • slices bacon - 6 item
  • radishes, sliced - 6 item
  • hard-cooked egg, chopped - 1 item

How to make wilted lettuce salad:

Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and crumble. Add onion to bacon drippings; cook over low heat until tender, about 3 minutes. Add vinegar, water, sugar, salt and bacon; cook and stir until boiling. Place lettuce in large salad bowl; pour hot dressing over lettuce and toss until well coated. Garnish with radish slices and chopped egg. Serves 6. Do not chill salad before serving.
