Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • water
  • vinegar - 2/3 c
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • chopped onion - 3/4 c
  • bacon strips - 5 item
  • sliced, cooked, peeled potatoes - 6 c

How to make german potato salad:

In skillet, fry bacon until crisp; remove and set aside. Drain all but 3 tablespoons of drippings. Cook onion until tender. Stir in flour; blend well. Add vinegar and water; cook and stir until bubbly and slightly thick. Add sugar and stir until it dissolves. Crumble bacon; gently stir in bacon and potatoes. Heat through, stirring lightly to coat potatoes. Serve warm.
