Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • pkg
  • butter or margarine - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • sifted flour
  • light brown sugar - 2 c
  • Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk - 1 c
  • quick oats, uncooked - 3 c

How to make fudge nut bars:

Fudge Nut Filling:1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips1 c. Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk2 Tbsp. butter or margarine1/2 tsp. salt2 tsp. vanilla Cream together butter and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt; stir in rolled oats. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Set aside while you make filling.

In saucepan, over boiling water, mix chips, milk, butter and salt. Stir until smooth. Stir in nuts and vanilla.

Spread about 2/3 of oatmeal mixture in greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan. Cover with chocolate mixture. Dot with remaining oatmeal mixture and swirl it over chocolate mixture.

Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until browned. Makes 60 (2 x 1-inch) bars. Freezes well.
