Fudge nut bars
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- can sweetened condensed milk - 1 item
- plus 2 Tbsp - 1 c
- quick cooking oatmeal - 3 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- pecans, chopped - 1 c
- vanilla divided - 3 tsp
How to make fudge nut bars:
Cream 1 cup margarine and brown sugar together. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla and eggs. Beat well. Sift flour, soda and salt together, add to sugar mixture and beat until well blended. Stir in oatmeal. Spread 2/3 of oatmeal mixture in a greased 10 1/2 x 15 1/2-inch pan. Reserve remaining oatmeal mixture for top.Combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and 2 tablespoons margarine in saucepan. Heat until margarine and chocolate are melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spoon over oatmeal mixture. Sprinkle reserved oatmeal mixture over chocolate. Sprinkle pecans on top. Pat down lightly. Bake 25 minutes at 325°.
