  • sugar - 5 Tbsp
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • sour cream
  • mayonnaise
  • medium green peppers - 2 item
  • Cheddar cheese, grated
  • medium carrots - 2 item
  • medium red onion - 1 item
  • cans water chestnuts - 2 oz
  • bacon, fried crisp and crumbled - 3/4 lb
  • small head iceberg lettuce - 1 item
  • cans pineapple tidbits - 2 1/4
  • cans mushrooms, sliced - 2 oz

How to make frosted polynesian salad:

Frosting:1 1/2 c. mayonnaise1 1/2 c. sour cream5 Tbsp. sugar Topping:3/4 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated3/4 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled Line bottom and sides of 13 x 9-inch pan with lettuce. Cook and cool peas ahead of time. Drain pineapple and mix with diced green pepper, onions, carrots, water chestnuts, mushrooms and peas. Place in lined pan. Spread top with frosting mixture. Refrigerate overnight. Two hours before serving, mix Cheddar and bacon together. Cover top of salad.
