  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • evaporated milk - 2/3 c
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • melted butter - 3 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • oleo or butter - 1/4 c
  • apples, peeled and chopped fine - 1 c
  • Cream butter and brown sugar

How to make frosted apple cookies:

Sift together dry ingredients; set aside. Cream butter and brown sugar. Blend in vanilla and egg. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Stir in nuts and apples. Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes. Allow to cool and spread with glaze. Makes 5 to 6 dozen.Glaze:2 c. confectioners sugar1 tsp. cinnamon3 Tbsp. melted butter evaporated milk Sift sugar and cinnamon together. Add melted butter and enough evaporated milk for a spreading consistency. Frost cookies.
