French onion soup
Ingredients/Components
- sliced onions - 6 c
- beef broth - 4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- sugar - 1 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- to 8 slices toasted French bread - 6 item
- shredded Swiss or Mozzarella - 1 c
How to make french onion soup:
Saut onion in butter. Add broth, sugar, Worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; cook 15 to 20 minutes. Ladle soup in bowl. Put slice of bread in bowl and top with cheese. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Meat, French.
