Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- sugar - 3/4 c
- well beaten eggs - 2 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- all-purpose flour
- salt - 1 tsp
- + 2 tsp - 1 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
How to make doughnuts:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add milk, then add flour that has been sifted with salt, baking powder and spices. Chill dough thoroughly in refrigerator.Roll on lightly floured surface 3/8 inch thick. Cut with floured doughnut cutter and fry in deep fryer with oil preheated to 375°. Turn once to brown on second side. Makes 3 dozen.
