Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 7 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- honey - 4 Tbsp
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
- lukewarm water
How to make dinner rolls:
Place shortening, salt and honey in bowl. Add water and stir well. Add beaten eggs and stir into mixture with yeast. Add flour all at once and stir to make a soft dough. Knead into a ball. Place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise for 1 1/2 hours. Knead down. Make into rolls. Let rise approximately 45 minutes. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 400°.Note: For Butterhorn Rolls, divide dough into quarters. Roll out to about 9-inch circles. Cut each circle into 16 pie-shaped pieces. Butter lightly, and if desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Roll from wide end. Rise; bake.
