Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 c
- water
- cream of tartar - 1/8 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- alum - 1/8 tsp
- heads dill - 2 item
- Heinz vinegar - 1 qt
- to 3 pieces garlic - 1 item
- to 4 red peppers - 2 item
- to 30 cucumbers for each quart - 20 item
How to make dill pickles:
Brine:3 qt. water1/4 c. salt1 qt. Heinz vinegar Wash cucumbers. Put in 5 gallon container. Cover with tap water. Let stand 4 to 5 hours. Then pack clean quart jars with cucumbers, cream of tartar, alum, bay leaf, red peppers, garlic and dill.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Appetizers, Condiments, etc..
