Deviled mushrooms
Ingredients/Components
- fresh mushrooms - 1 lb
- black pepper - 1/8 tsp
- butter, divided - 3 Tbsp
- cream cheese, softened - 3 oz
- onion powder - 1 tsp
- can deviled ham - 1 1/2
- bread crumbs, divided - 1 c
How to make deviled mushrooms:
Rinse, pat dry and remove stems from mushrooms. Set caps aside. Chop enough stems to make 1/2 cup. Reserve for later use. In medium bowl combine cream cheese, deviled ham, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, reserved chopped mushroom stems, onion powder and pepper. In small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter. Brush outside of caps with butter. Mound stuffing mixture into each mushroom cap. Melt remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and stir in remaining bread crumbs. Sprinkle over stuffed mushrooms. Place in shallow baking dish and bake at 350° for 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Breakfast, Grains.
