Ingredients/Components
- Medium White Sauce recipe follows - 1/2 c
- egg, separated - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 2 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- dry ground mustard - 1 tsp
- red pepper - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- fresh lump crabmeat - 1 lb
- egg, lightly beaten - 1 item
- bread crumbs - 1 item
- butter - 1 item
- margarine
- flour - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
How to make deviled crab:
Medium White Sauce:1 tsp. margarine1 tsp. flour1/2 c. milk Combine Medium White Sauce, egg yolk, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, mustard, red pepper and salt. Combine crab and beaten egg. Mix crab meat and sauce. Preheat oven to 500°. Grease 6 crab shells. Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Fold into crab mix. Pour into shells. Sprinkle with crumbs. Dot with butter. Place on baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes.Medium White Sauce: Cook on low heat and cool.
