Ingredients/Components
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
- carrots, chopped - 2 item
- dry lentils
- large bay leaf - 1 item
- chicken broth or 2 chicken bouillon cubes - 2 qt
How to make crock-pot lentil soup:
Put ingredients in crock-pot. Fill crock-pot 2/3 full with water. Cook on low for at least 5 hours. When finished, cook 1/2 cup tubettini macaroni or other small macaroni separately, then add to crock-pot. Serve with Romano cheese sprinkled on top and crusty French bread.This dish is terrific on bitter winter days when you've had a very busy day. Just put everything in the crock-pot in the morning!
