Creole jambalaya
Ingredients/Components
- water - 1 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- onion, chopped - 3/4 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1/4 c
- celery, chopped - 1/2 c
- thyme - 1 tsp
- can beef broth - 1 to
- butter or olive oil - 2 Tbsp
- can tomatoes, chopped - 1 oz
- white rice uncooked - 1 c
- sugar if desired - 1 tsp
- ham or smoked sausage - 2 c
- uncooked shrimp fresh or frozen, peeled and deveined
How to make creole jambalaya:
Saute onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in butter or olive oil until tender. Add the next 9 ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until rice is tender, about 25 minutes. Add shrimp and parsley. Simmer, uncovered, until shrimp are cooked, about 10 minutes.Recipe categories: Chicken, Poultry, Shrimp.
