Cranberry chutney
Ingredients/Components
- Cinnamon - 2 tsp
- Butter or Margarine - 1 Tbsp
- Cup Chopped Onion - 3/4 item
- Cup Water - 1 item
- Cup Packed Brown Sugar - 1/2 item
- Cup Granulated Sugar - 1 item
- Ground Cloves - 1/4 tsp
- Ground Ginger
- Cup Chopped Celery - 1/2 item
- Ground Allspice - 1/4 tsp
- Cranberries - 1 lb
- Cup Chopped, Cored, Pared, Cooking Apples - 1 item
- Cup Golden Raisins - 1/2 item
How to make cranberry chutney:
Simmer cranberries, apples, sugars, raisins, spices and 1 cup of water uncovered in a 4 quart saucepan over medium heat stirring frequently until juice is released from berries (approximately 15 minutes).Meanwhile, gently cook onion and celery in butter until tender Add onion mixture to cranberries and simmer, uncovered until thickened stirring frequently (approximately 40 minutes).
Add a little additional water as needed.
Refrigerate covered up to 2 weeks.
