Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 qt
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 6 Tbsp
  • ground nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • dash of hot pepper sauce - 1 item
  • dash of Worcestershire sauce - 1 item
  • finely chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
  • poultry seasoning - 1/2 tsp
  • sage flavored bulk pork sausage - 1 lb

How to make country sausage gravy:

Crumble sausage into a large frypan. Cook over medium heat. Add onion. Cook and stir until transparent. Drain; discard all but 2 tablespoons drippings. Stir in flour. Cook over medium heat about 6 minutes or until mixture bubbles and turns brown. Stir in milk. Add seasonings. Cook, stirring until thickened. Delicious over biscuits.
