Corn relish
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 c
- flour - 1 c
- vinegar - 2 qt
- mustard - 1/2 tsp
- cayenne - 1/4 tsp
- onions, sliced thin - 4 item
- turmeric - 1/2 tsp
- green peppers, chopped - 2 item
- small cabbage, chopped - 1 item
- bunch celery, chopped - 1 item
- corn ears
How to make corn relish:
Cut corn from cob. Chop vegetables. Put in kettle and pour half of vinegar over mixture. Mix sugar, flour, salt, mustard, cayenne and turmeric; add the remaining vinegar. Combine mixtures and bring to boiling point. Simmer 40 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 pRecipe categories: < 60 mins, Vegetables, Corn.
