Ingredients/Components

  • flour - 6 Tbsp
  • butter - 6 Tbsp
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • grated Cheddar cheese - 3 c
  • parsley - 1 tsp
  • onion, finely chopped - 1 item
  • white wine - 8 Tbsp
  • bay leaves - 2 item
  • chives - 1 tsp
  • cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • whole milk
  • large potatoes, peeled and diced - 2 item
  • boiling salt water - 4 c
  • bag frozen corn or kernels from 4 ears - 1 item

How to make corn and cheddar cheese chowder:

Peel and dice potatoes. Boil in salted water with bay leaves and cumin until tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Melt butter in saucepan. Saute onion and add flour. Mix well and add milk. Pour into potatoes and water. Add corn, parsley, chives, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in grated Cheddar cheese and white wine. Mix well. Heat until cheese is completely melted.
