- water - 1 c
- or 3 slices bacon - 2 item
- collard greens any green leafy vegetable - 1 item
How to make collard greens:
Place bacon in large heavy kettle. Brown carefully. Add 1 cup water to hot kettle. Put in collards (that have been washed and torn from large stems). Turn burner to lowest heat (not simmer). Cook 1 hour. Add about 1 1/2 cups water before putting lid on to cook.Recipe categories: Side dish, Greens, Collard greens.
