Hot fruit compote
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 tsp
- light corn syrup - 1/2 c
- orange juice - 1 c
- jar maraschino cherries - 1 item
- can pineapple chunks - 20 oz
- orange rind - 2 Tbsp
- can apricot halves - 16 oz
- can peach halves - 16 oz
- can pear halves - 16 oz
How to make hot fruit compote:
Orange Sauce:1/3 c. sugar2 tsp. cornstarch1/4 tsp. salt1/2 c. light corn syrup1 c. orange juice2 Tbsp. orange rind Drain fruit; arrange in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.To make sauce: Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt, corn syrup, juice and rind in pan. Heat to boil. Pour over fruit. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Yield: 12 servings.
