Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1/4 c
• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• milk - 2/3 c
• butter or margarine - 1/4 c
• baking powder - 2 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• chopped nuts optional - 1 item
• flour, sifted

How to make coffee cake:

Topping:4 Tbsp. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon chopped nuts (optional) Preheat oven to 350°. Mix sugar, butter and egg together. Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together. Add to sugar, butter, egg mixture, alternating dry ingredients and milk. Add vanilla. Pour in greased 8 x 8-inch pan. Sprinkle on topping, if desired. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Test with a toothpick.
