Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 5 item
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder
- dash of salt - 1 item
- plain flour - 2 c
- Crisco - 1 c
- hot water - 1/2 c
- coconut flavoring
- can Angel Flake coconut - 1 item
- Sift flour and baking powder
How to make coconut pound cake:
Cream together Crisco and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Sift flour and baking powder. Add dry ingredients, alternating with milk. Add flavoring and coconut. Pour into Bundt or tube pan and bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.Topping Sauce:1 c. sugar1/2 c. hot water Let topping ingredients come to a boil and boil for 1 minute. Spoon over cake.
