- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 5 item
- water - 1/2 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder
- dash of salt - 1 item
- plain flour - 2 c
- Crisco - 1 c
- coconut flavoring
- can Angel Flake coconut - 1 item
How to make coconut pound cake:
Syrup:1 c. sugar1/2 c. water1 tsp. coconut flavoring Preheat oven to 325°. Grease and flour tube pan. Cream Crisco and sugar well together. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Then add coconut and flavoring.Bake 50 minutes or longer. Test with toothpick. Leave in pan and prick with ice pick and add the syrup. Boil syrup 2 minutes.
