Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 3 item
- milk - 2 c
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- coconut - 5 oz
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- baked pie crust - 1 item
- capful vanilla flavoring - 1 item
- small hunk butter - 1 item
How to make coconut pie:
In a pan, mix sugar, flour and 1 cup milk. In a mixing bowl, divide eggs, setting whites aside. Beat egg yellows and add 1 cup milk. Add yellow egg mixture to ingredients in pan and cook over medium heat until thick and boiling. Set off stove and add vanilla and butter. Stir in coconut. Put in cool pie crust.For meringue, mix egg whites in mixing bowl with cream of tartar. Mix until fluffy and add sugar; mix until stiff. Put on top of pie and sprinkle coconut on top. Brown top lightly in oven at 350°.
