Cinnamon raisin biscuits
Ingredients/Components
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- tsp salt - 1/4 item
- cup raisins - 1/2 item
- tsp ground cinnamon - 1/2 item
- cups all purpose flour - 2 item
- 1/2 Tbsp sugar - 1 item
- cup sifted powdered sugar - 1/2 item
- Tbsp chilled stick margarine, cut into small pieces - 3 item
- cup 1% low fat milk - 3/4 item
- Tbsp 1% low fat milk - 1 item
How to make cinnamon raisin biscuits:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.Combine first 5 ingredients into a bowl; cut in margarine with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add raisins; toss well. Add 3/4 cup of milk; stir just until dry ingredients are are moist. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead 4 to 5 times. Roll dough to a 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter, and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 11 minutes or until golden brown. Combine powdered sugar and 1 Tbsp milk; stir well. drizzle over biscuits. Yield 1 dozen. Serving size: 1 biscuit. 3 Points.
