Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cornstarch
  • water - 1/4 c
  • oil - 3 Tbsp
  • soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • bean sprouts - 1/2 lb
  • sliced celery - 3/4 c
  • sliced onions - 3/4 c
  • pork - 1/2 lb

How to make chow mein:

Cook celery and onions in 2 tablespoons hot oil for 5 minutes. Add salt, bean sprouts and cook, covered, 5 minutes. Place on platter. Fry pork in remaining oil until cooked.

Gravy: Mix cornstarch, soy sauce, sugar and water. Pour over meat, stir until cooked.
