Chop suey
Ingredients/Components
- ground beef
- medium onions, sliced - 2 item
- chopped celery
- hot water - 1 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- carton bean sprouts - 16 oz
- soy sauce - 1/4 c
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- water - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch or flour I use flour - 2 Tbsp
- La Choy noodles if desired - 1 item
How to make chop suey:
Brown ground beef; add onions, celery and 1 cup hot water. Cover tightly and simmer for 15 minutes. Add bean sprouts which have been rinsed. Combine soy sauce, 2 tablespoons water and flour in jar with lid and shake well. Add to meat mixture and continue cooking for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened (add extra water if mixture is too dry).
