Applesauce loaf
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- sifted flour
- applesauce - 1 c
How to make applesauce loaf:
Stir to soften the shortening. Gradually add sugar, creaming until light. Add eggs; beat until light and fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with applesauce, beating well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour into wax paper lined 9 1/2 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven at 350° for about 1 hour. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove to cooling rack.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 4 hours.
