Ingredients/Components

  • cup margarine - 1/2 item
  • cup water - 1 item
  • cup shortening - 1/2 item
  • tablespoons cocoa - 2 item
  • cups sugar - 2 item
  • cups flour - 2 item
  • cup buttermilk - 1/2 item
  • teaspoon soda - 1 item
  • eggs - 2 item
  • teaspoon vanilla - 1 item
  • Bring to a boil and pour over sifted sugar and flour
  • tablespoons milk - 8 item
  • pound powdered sugar - 1 item
  • cup chopped pecans - 1/2 item

How to make chocolate sheath cake:

Combine margarine, water, shortening and cocoa in saucepan. Bring to a boil and pour over sifted sugar and flour. Mix well. Add buttermilk with soda added, eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into 9 X 12 pan that has been sprayed with PAM or greased and floured. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.Icing:1/2 cup margarine8 tablespoons milk4 tablespoons cocoa1 pound powdered sugar1 teaspoon vanilla1/2 cup chopped pecans Combine margarine, milk and cocoa in pan and bring to boil. Add sugar, vanilla and pecans and mix. Spread on warm cake.
