  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1/4 c
  • egg yolks - 3 item
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • egg whites - 3 item
  • cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp

How to make chocolate pie:

Mix the cocoa, sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add unbeaten egg yolks and milk; stir well. Cook in double boiler; stir often until thickened. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and butter. Pour into baked 9-inch pie shell. Cover with meringue. Meringue:
