Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1/4 c
- egg yolks - 2 item
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- Cook over boiling water until mixture thickens, stirring often
How to make chocolate meringue pie:
Combine ingredients in order given except the butter and vanilla. Cook over boiling water until mixture thickens, stirring often. Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla.Meringue:2 egg whites4 Tbsp. sugar1/4 tsp. cream of tartar Add cream of tartar to egg whites and beat until stiff.
