  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • flour - 4 Tbsp
  • eggs, separated - 2 item
  • water - 2 Tbsp
  • cocoa - 3 Tbsp
  • margarine - 3 Tbsp
  • cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
  • Beat egg yolks

How to make chocolate pie:

Combine sugar, cocoa and flour; mix well. Beat egg yolks. Add yolks, milk and butter to first ingredients. Cook until thick; add vanilla and pour into baked pie shell.Meringue:2 egg whites2 Tbsp. water1/4 tsp. cream of tartar1/8 tsp. salt Beat until stiff but not dry. Add sugar small amount at a time. Spread on pie. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons sugar over top of pie. This makes the pie easy to cut. Bake 15 minutes at 250°.
