Peanut butter pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- vanilla - 1/4 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 3 item
- egg whites - 3 item
- powdered sugar - 1 c
- peanut butter - 1/2 c
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- baked pie shell - 1 item
How to make peanut butter pie:
Mix powdered sugar and peanut butter until it resembles meal. Spread 3/4 of mixture on pie crust. Cook cornstarch, sugar, salt, milk, egg yolks, butter and vanilla until thick. Pour into pie shell on top of peanut butter mixture. Top with meringue and sprinkle with remaining peanut butter mixture.For Meringue: Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Beat in sugar, one tablespoon at a time. Beat until stiff and glossy. Beat in vanilla. Heap onto hot pie filling. Seal edge to crust. Bake for 10 minutes to a delicate brown.
