Chocolate lover's cheesecake
Ingredients/Components
- margarine or butter - 3 Tbsp
- finely crushed chocolate wafers 17 wafers - 1 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- sour cream - 1/2 c
- sugar - 1/3 c
- milk - 1/4 c
- beaten egg - 1 item
- 2 oz - 2 sq
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- 1 oz
- shortening - 1 tsp
How to make chocolate lover's cheesecake:
Topping (Optional):1 sq. (1 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate1 tsp. shortening Crust: In a microwave-safe pie dish, melt butter on High for 45 to 60 seconds or until well melted. Stir in crumbs until well moistened. Press in bottom and sides to form crust. Cook, uncovered, on High for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until set, rotating a 1/2 turn after 30 seconds.In mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, milk and egg; beat with mixer on medium speed just until smooth. Stir in 2 ounces melted chocolate and the vanilla. Pour cream cheese mixture into crust. Cook, uncovered, on Medium for 11 to 14 minutes or until a knife inserted 2-inches from edge comes out clean, giving dish a 1/4 turn every 3 minutes. (Center will be slightly set but not firm.) Cool slightly, then refrigerate at least 4 hours or until well set.
Topping: In a separate bowl, cook remaining 1 ounce chocolate and shortening, uncovered on High for 2 to 3 minutes or until melted. Stir until smooth. Drizzle chocolate mixture on top of cheesecake. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
