Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 item
- pepper - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1 c
- chili powder - 1 Tbsp
- chopped green pepper - 3/4 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- minced garlic - 1 Tbsp
- dried basil
- small can tomato paste - 1 item
- can tomatoes, chopped - 1 item
- bottle beer - 1 oz
- can kidney beans or pinto beans, drained - 1 oz
How to make chili:
In a large kettle, cook ground beef, onion, green pepper and garlic until meat is browned. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, beans, paste, beer, chili powder, basil, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
