Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 1 item
- eggs, separated - 2 item
- oil for frying - 1 item
- cans green chiles, roasted and peeled - 2 oz
- cheese Longhorn or Monterey Jack - 1/2 lb
How to make chile rellenos:
Cut cheese into strips and press into chiles. Dredge with flour. Whip egg whites until stiff. Beat yolk, salt and 1/4 cup flour. Fold in egg whites. Heat oil in skillet (2 inches). Dip chiles in egg mixture. Place in skillet. Fry until brown, turn and fry on other side.Recipe categories: Cheese, Main dish, Peppers.
