Chicken tortilla casserole
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- chicken broth - 2 c
- large onion, diced - 1 item
- cream of chicken soup - 2 c
- cheese, grated - 2 lb
- can diced green chiles - 1 oz
- sliced mushrooms optional - 1 item
- cream of celery soup - 2 c
- chicken breasts, cooked, skinned, deboned and chopped - 6 item
- to 24 tortillas, depending on pan size - 18 item
How to make chicken tortilla casserole:
In frying pan, melt butter. Add onion and cook until soft. Add chiles, broth, soups and chicken. Mix and heat.Layer in large casserole dish, soup mixture, tortillas, cheese, soup, tortillas and cheese. Bake, uncovered, 45 minutes at 325°.
