Chicken stroganoff
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- dairy sour cream - 1/2 c
- lemon juice - 2 tsp
- paprika
- chicken broth - 1/2 c
- dry white wine - 1/2 c
- mushrooms, sliced - 1/2 lb
- chopped fresh dill - 2 Tbsp
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- leaf basil - 1/4 tsp
- 1/2 stick oleo - 4 Tbsp
- chicken or 3 chicken breasts - 2 c
How to make chicken stroganoff:
Saute onion in butter in saucepan until golden. Add mushrooms; cook and stir 3 to 5 minutes longer. Blend in flour, paprika, salt, basil and thyme. Cook 1 minute. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in chicken broth and wine. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and bubbles, 1 minute. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Blend in sour cream. Add chicken, lemon juice and dill. Heat thoroughly over low heat, but do not boil. Serve over noodles.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Chicken breast.
