Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- stick margarine - 1 item
- cornstarch - 4 Tbsp
- cold water - 4 Tbsp
- pepper - 1 item
- soy sauce - 4 Tbsp
- chicken broth - 3 c
- celery - 4 c
- can water chestnuts - 1 item
- onions - 2 c
- cans mushrooms - 2 item
- large fryer - 1 item
- brown gravy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- cans drained Chinese vegetables - 2 item
How to make chicken chow mein:
Melt butter and saute onions for 5 minutes. Add celery, salt, pepper and chicken broth. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add Chinese vegetables. Mix. Heat to boiling point. Add mushrooms and water chestnuts, if desired. Add thickening made of water, cornstarch, soy sauce, sugar and gravy sauce and cook 1 minute. Add chicken and remove from heat.
