Sweet and sour chicken
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 1 Tbsp
- vinegar - 3 Tbsp
- soy sauce
- ketchup - 1/2 c
- can pineapple chunks - 1 item
- small onion - 1 item
- can water chestnuts, drained - 1 item
- can chow mein noodles, warmed - 1 item
- skinless chicken, pieces or chunked - 1 lb
- medium green/red bell pepper - 1 item
How to make sweet and sour chicken:
Drain pineapple. Reserve juice. Combine juice, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch and soy sauce. Blend well. Heat oil in wok or skillet. Add chicken and stir-fry 3 minutes. Remove chicken. Add pepper and onion. Stir-fry 3 minutes. Add chestnuts and juice mixture. Cook, stirring, until boils and thickens. Add chicken and pineapple. Heat through.
