How to make chicken and asparagus casserole:
Boil hen in water with salt. Debone and reserve stock. Melt butter in pot. Blend in flour gradually with milk. Then add broth and cook on low heat until thick and smooth. Remove from heat and add salad dressing, lemon juice and curry powder. Mix well.Layer 1 can asparagus in a shallow 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Add all of the chicken. Pour 1/2 of sauce mixture over chicken. Arrange 1 can of asparagus over this. Pour 1/2 of sauce mixture over this and top with slivered almonds and pimento strips. Bake for 20 minutes at 400°. Serves 8.
