Cherry sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 4 tsp
- chopped walnuts or almonds - 1/3 c
- dash of ground cloves - 1 item
- unsweetened apple juice - 1 c
- to 4 drops red food coloring optional - 3 item
- can tart cherries in water - 16 oz
How to make cherry sauce:
Mix sugar, cornstarch and spices in medium saucepan. Add apple juice, a little at a time to prevent lumps. Add food coloring. Cook over medium heat until mixture starts to boil and cook for 2 minutes more. Stir in cherries and nuts; heat through.
