  • milk - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • fine dry bread crumbs - 1/2 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • oregano - 1/2 tsp
  • tomato sauce - 4 oz
  • pastry for 1 9-inch pie
  • Cheese Topping - 1 item
  • each salt, dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped green pepper if desired - 1/4 c
  • Brown beef in small amount of fat

How to make cheeseburger pie:

Heat oven to 425°. Brown beef in small amount of fat. Mix in rest of ingredients, except topping. Spread in pastry-lined pie pan. Spread Cheese Topping over filling. Bake about 30 minutes. Serve with sauce. (Sauce is remaining 4 ounces tomato sauce and 4 ounces chili sauce.)Cheese Topping:8 oz. wedge mellow Cheddar cheese, grated1 egg, beaten1/4 c. milk1/2 tsp. each salt, dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce Mix ingredients together.
