Cheese biscuits
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2/3 c
- flour
- butter - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- yellow cornmeal - 3/4 c
- grated sharp Cheddar cheese - 1/2 c
- cayenne pepper or hot paprika - 1/4 tsp
How to make cheese biscuits:
Heat oven to 450°. Mix flour, cornmeal, baking powder and pepper. Cut in butter and stir in grated cheese. Add milk and mix quickly for dough. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 30 seconds. Roll out and cut into 2 1/2-inch squares. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Space evenly. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Serves 12 to 15.Recipe categories: Breads, Rolls/biscuits, High calcium.
