Cheddar cheese soup
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3 c
- salt - 1 item
- flour - 1/4 c
- margarine - 1/4 c
- dry mustard - 3/4 tsp
- pepper - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- chicken broth - 2 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 3 c
- celery, chopped - 1 c
- large potatoes, cubed - 2 item
- large onion, sliced thin - 1 item
- medium carrots, cubed - 2 item
How to make cheddar cheese soup:
Saute onion and celery in margarine. Stir in flour, dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 2 minutes until vegetables are coated and bubbly. Stir in chicken broth, potatoes and carrots. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 25 minutes. Add milk; cook until almost boiling. Reduce heat to low. Stir in cheese; stir until melted.
