  • milk - 3 c
  • salt - 1 item
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • margarine - 1/4 c
  • dry mustard - 3/4 tsp
  • pepper - 1 item
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
  • chicken broth - 2 c
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 3 c
  • celery, chopped - 1 c
  • large potatoes, cubed - 2 item
  • large onion, sliced thin - 1 item
  • medium carrots, cubed - 2 item

How to make cheddar cheese soup:

Saute onion and celery in margarine. Stir in flour, dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 2 minutes until vegetables are coated and bubbly. Stir in chicken broth, potatoes and carrots. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 25 minutes. Add milk; cook until almost boiling. Reduce heat to low. Stir in cheese; stir until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
