Cauliflower casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- slices bread - 3 item
- head cauliflower - 1 item
- slices cheese - 8 item
How to make cauliflower casserole:
Wash cauliflower. Separate head; cook in salted water until done, but not mushy. Put cauliflower in buttered 9 x 12-inch baking dish. While cauliflower is cooking, soak white bread (that the brown edges have been trimmed) in 3 cups of milk. Break up bread after soaking; add onion and celery. Cook in heavy skillet milk, bread, celery and onion until thick and creamy. Salt and pepper to taste. Pour over cauliflower. Cover with cheese.
