Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla
  • salt
  • baking soda - 3/4 tsp
  • firmly packed brown sugar - 3 c
  • margarine
  • popped corn - 9 qt
  • light or dark syrup - 3/4 c

How to make caramel popcorn:

Melt margarine. Stir in sugar and salt; bring to a boil for 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat. Stir in soda. Pour over corn and put in shallow pan. Bake at 250° for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Store in sealed container.
